Tulips have been my favorite flower ever since I can remember, the bold colors are striking. I grew up in the south where they don’t grow well, so pictures or store-bought Easter tulip where all I ever saw. The first time I ever saw a field of tulips I was completely blown away; it was as magical as my imaginations with layers and layers of colors.
A couple of years ago I heard about a tulip festival in Oregon and I had to see it, it was a combination of two of my favorite things, tulips and Oregon. This year was my second visit and I will go back every chance I can. I love the rows upon rows of the bright colored happy flowers.
Photography Notes: I shot with my Canon EOS R camera, my RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro lens and the EF 24-105mm f/4 lens. The close up shots of the tulips are taken with the 35mm lens. I enjoy walking around with this lens and getting in close. You can get the details of a flower without loosing the feel and energy of the garden. The vista shots are taken with my trusty 24-105, it never fails to give me sharp results. The day was breezy, so I hand held everything, but I did shoot HDR to give me a full dynamic range and option in post.
